Board of DirectorsMission: The purpose of the Board of Directors is to fulfill the organization’s mission in the most effective and efficient manner and to remain accountability to stakeholders, including clients, partners, funders, employees and the community. In order to accomplish this, Whole Life Center For Women commits to provide responsible, committed and well-educated board members whose vision mirrors that of the organization and who are dedicated to moving the organization forward in the spirit of the mission statement. MembersChair – Laureen Peltier As the founder of the Whole Life Center for Women, Laureen has a vision to change the mental health field and allow for a more spiritual approach to well-being. She has been an operations manager and Assistant Vice-President for US Bank for over 10 years. She has extended experiences in capacitating, financials and budget management, as well as acquisitions and conversions at a high level. She is trained at various levels of Human Resources including Federal and State Laws, and has conducted both leadership and ethics training. She is a speaker for RAINN, touring the country to speak to women regarding the healing process and empowering health care decisions. She is an advocate for women in therapy, as well as actively involved in lobbying for better mental health care. A published author, she seeks to expand women's knowledge on managing their own mental health care by introducing Integrative Psychiatry into health plans. Vice-Chair – M.D. (TBD) Secretary – Valerie Mims-Reed Valerie has been an operations supervisor in a call center for the last 9 years for a large mid-western based financial institution. Responsible for managing the day to day activities of staff, producing reports, training and skill development of staff and mentoring of peers and project management. In addition she also managed financials, which included all aspects of forecasting, capacity planning, and budgeting. Prior to US Bank, Valerie was a full-charge bookkeeper for over 10 years. Her bookkeeping experience as been in food franchises, tractor dealership and private medical offices. In addition, Valerie has volunteered at many county agencies that serve individuals and families. She has strong community ties and is actively involved in encouraging individuals to grow and achieve their highest potential, through mentoring and education. Treasurer – Deb Loppnow Deborah Loppnow brings a robust background in the financial industry. She earned her MBA from Capella. Her prior education background was in the areas of Social studies, including sociology and psychology. Ms Loppnow has held many positions in the payment industry from an Insurance premium reconciler to developing and leading a successful reconciliation unit with US Banks Corporate Credit Division. She comes with a strong leadership, accounting and reconciliation back ground in the financial arena for 25 years.Member – Psychiatrist (Actively recruiting) Member – Education/Psychology (Actively recruiting) Advisory CommitteeAs part of our business plan, we have assembled an advisory committee to assist us with strategic and logistic planning. As our resource center encompasses a variety of modalities to help women achieve their goals, and as we are strongly committed to providing the best resources, we found it necessary to gather the following individuals with specific interests to assist us. Dr. Robert B. Mims, M.D. F.A.C.E. Dr. Mims has been practicing medicine for over 40 years, specializing in Endocrinology. He founded the Endocrine Society of the Redwoods. He has extensive experience in research and has participated in many clinical trials of new drugs for the pharmaceutical industry and recently has added Neutraceuticals to his research. Dr. Mims was Chairman of the LAC/USC Department of Home Health Services and Associate Medical Director of John Wesley Community Hospital. In addition, he has 40 years of community volunteer work and numerous experiences in community awareness programs. Jessica White, MA (psychology) Ms. White received her mastered degree in public health from Harvard University. She was the Director of Public Health for Berkeley University and has over 15 years experience in developing and managing public health care. She created a program designed to better deliver healthcare systems that was adopted nationally. In her role she designs and implements public health care systems. She has received national awards for her work and is a national speaker for educational facilities. Robin Mims, MPA (Health) Ms. Mims has been the California Statewide Director of the Utilization and Operations for Healthnet for 17 years. In her role she managed client services and compliance for over 2 million members. Her duties included merges, operations and acquisitions. Ms. Mims brings a wealth of knowledge from the health industry including developing community programs, implementing measuring tools for the purpose of improved health care, and policies of preventative care for corporations and clients. Currently, she is Director of Client Services for Alemeta County, CA. She participates in pharmacy and therapeutic committee, members issues advisory committee and oversees contracting and credentialing. |
